Advice For Anyone Joining The Industry

  • If you’re entering digital marketing in 2026, understand that AI is no longer a “tool” — it’s infrastructure. Learn how to work with AI systems for research, content generation, media buying, analytics, and automation, but don’t rely on them blindly. The real value now comes from strategy, positioning, and taste: knowing what to ask, what to publish, and how to differentiate in a world flooded with AI-generated content. Master first-party data, performance metrics, and conversion psychology, because platforms and algorithms will keep changing — but understanding human behavior and business economics will always compound.
  • At the same time, build a personal edge. Go deep in one core area (paid ads, SEO, lifecycle email, AI creative production, analytics) while staying literate across the entire funnel. Develop communication skills — clients and teams still hire clarity, not just capability. And most importantly, document your work publicly: case studies, breakdowns, experiments, even failures. In a saturated market, proof beats promises, and your visible thinking becomes your portfolio.
