About

Who is Morgan Petrov?

Morgan Petrov is an SEO Lead and consultant at Chartis.io. In this role, I lead client account strategies by identifying high-impact opportunities to drive overall digital transformation for brands. My approach to SEO focuses on improving businesses’ bottom line through search which encompasses brands’ entire digital ecosystem—going far beyond “best practices.” Being a big-picture thinker and perpetual optimist, I have a passion for developing long-term strategies that deliver real results. My strategies have a large focus on creating a valuable user experience across all channels including organic search, organic social media, public relations, paid channels, and more.

My understanding of the search landscape, digital ecosystems, algorithms, and compliance has allowed me to specialize in working with highly regulated industries such as financial services, SaaS, eCommerce, government agencies, and higher education. At Chartis, I’ve had the opportunity to work with some of the world’s largest financial services brands and venture capital firms. Before joining Chartis, I have had the opportunity to work with incredible brands such as Marriott International, The Home Depot, Ember Mugs, Benefit Cosmetics, Seven Corners Insurance, Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance, West Virginia University, University of Missouri, Greystar, Silipint, and Polywood Outdoor Furniture.

In a previous life, I was a content writer at Wpromote where I began searching for the “why” behind content. Why do we write so much content and how does it impact a business’s bottom line? At the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, I took a risk and set out to find my answers as an SEO Specialist at Statwax Advertising (now TrendyMinds). My passion for learning and the thrill of SEO led me to rapidly advance my career from an SEO specialist to an SEO Team Lead within 9 months. I eventually rose to Executive Director of SEO within another 9 months after expanding the SEO team from a team of one to a full team of 6.

I am a vocal advocate for sustainable and mindful approaches to work-life balances, workplace culture and career advancement in SEO. Through my own experiences and professional journey in SEO, I’m extremely passionate about teaching others the importance of nurturing a healthy mindset to avoid burnout and sharing my own experiences with burning out and recovery.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, friends, and two dogs — Bean, and Italian greyhound, and Asher, an Australian shepherd. I can often be found with my nose in a nonfiction book, hand embroidering a meme, or working out. But, one thing is for certain, you can always find me on Sullivan’s Island Beach or walking on one of Charleston’s amazing nature trails each and every weekend.

Any Results/Highlights From Your Work You Want To Promote? Any Impact You’re Proud Of?

One thing that I am super proud of is my most recent webinar with Serpstat on advancing your SEO career without burning out. After battling burnout and extreme stress for two years, I was able to seek clinical help from a therapist and finally begin two my year-long path to recovery. Through my journey, I learned so many fantastic tools and tricks to not only maintain a healthy work-life balance but also, those same tools can be used to sustainably advance your career with a proper growth mindset (and stress management).

This is something that is so rarely talked about in the SEO and marketing industries but can have such a profound impact on everyone in the industry. My journey sparked a passion for teaching and mentoring others. I’m just so happy I’ve been able to share my experiences and advice with others across the world.
