Who is Michael Glavac?
- Senior SEO Specialist – Land.com.
- I’m working on a site called SERP De Jour, which will be a bit of a fun casual take on SEO news but I will also be highlighting funny SERP results.
- I also used to play paintball semi-professionally.
My name is Michael Glavac and I have been in the SEO world for over 7 years. I have worked on pretty much every facet of SEO over my career. I prefer to work on technical though I have started to lean a little more into content with the emergence of generative AI.
I have had the pleasure of working on sites in many industries and verticals throughout my career. Every industry seems to have it’s little quirks that keep things interesting on top of all the interesting products and businesses I have seen.
Advice For Anyone Joining The Industry
- Don’t be afraid to try an idea. Sometimes we get too stuck in the traditional tactics we sometimes don’t take a risk on something. The beauty of SEO is that it is a mix of art and science. It’s not as simple or rigid as paid, no disrespect to my PPC colleagues as I know it’s not as simple as people like to say either, but sometimes the thing that goes against all the “correct” ways to do it work.
- Don’t be afraid to ask people above you for advice. Early in my career I made it a point to soak as much knowledge as I could from my first director of SEO. She helped me expand my skillset and got me into technical SEO.

Any Results/Highlights From Your Work You Want To Promote? Any Impact You’re Proud Of?
- I’ve been a part of some cool things in the SEO space but my personal favorite achievement was the first time I was able to run SEO tests and they were successful. They went against everything everyone had been preaching at the time and the test was supposed to run for 6 months and after 6 weeks we saw white hot leads that easily converted.

Cool Fact
- I’m working on a site called SERP De Jour, which will be a bit of a fun casual take on SEO news but I will also be highlighting funny SERP results. Outside submissions will be welcomed, though SGE may be the gift that keeps on giving.
- I also used to play paintball semi-professionally. I also enjoy snowmobiling though nature hasn’t been too great with that the last 2 years. I’m hoping to ride from north central Illinois to the UP of Michigan and back one day.
