Who is John Vantine?

- I was instrumental in building/launching GoodRx Health in September of 2021, which recently surpassed 14mm monthly sessions!
- Trail running keeps me sane, and I recently celebrated my 40th birthday with a 40 mile run through Joshua Tree.
John Vantine is Director of SEO at GoodRx. In this role, I lead a team of amazing SEOs, own the holistic SEO roadmap for all GoodRx products, and work cross-functionally to educate about SEO and evangelize best practices across product, design, engineering and BI.
Advice For Anyone Joining The Industry
- Network! Find a local SEO meetup. Talk to a variety of folks. Consider the source of your information, especially on Twitter/LinkedIn/etc – there are lots of self-proclaimed experts out there who speak confidently and have large followings… but don’t get into the weeds themselves.
- Ideally you’ll set aside some time to build your own website and practice some SEO techniques on it to get a sense of what works for you.
- Also keep in mind that tactics may work well in one industry/scenario but less effective in another.
