Key Takeaways
- If you are a local business, you will always need quality reviews!
- Some think they arent important or are too hard to get.
- I created you a couple of simple templates for free to start gaining more reviews on whatever platform you want!
Reviews are important; there is no denying that. They will always be needed; you should always be trying to get them and improve their quality. This strategy will never go out of style so you might as well figure out a process to gain more.
There are lots of tools out there that can automate this process for you. A lot of CRMs that local businesses are already using have these follow ups with links to Google, Facebook, etc. But the problem with those are people get tons of emails every day. These automated review emails easily get buried and or forgotten.
I have always found that leaving a physical reminder for a review has a much higher chance at success. You or your workers can also be an advocate for these while interacting with the customer, which can also go a long way.
Some quick stats:
- 93% of users say online reviews had an impact on their buying decisions. – Exploding Topics
- 81% of consumers use Google to evaluate local businesses. – Exploding Topics
- 71% of consumers won’t consider using a business that has an average rating below 3 stars. – BrightLocal
- Businesses with 200+ reviews can earn 100%+ more revenue than those with fewer (~80 reviews). Negative reviews, if unmanaged, can cost up to 70% of potential business. – BVM
- 88% of consumers are more likely to choose a business that responds to all customer reviews, compared to just 47% for businesses that don’t respond at all. – Search Lab Digital
Get Google Reviews With QR Codes
One of the easiest ways to get started with quality review generation for Google, Facebook or any other playform is utilizing QR codes. Ever since the pandemic, everyone knows how to use QR codes.
Below is a Canva template anyone can copy and update according to your styles. Update with your logo in the bottom, change colors and copy to suit your needs. You will use the Canva QR Code Generator to link to your Google or Facebook.
I like to split this into 2 so you can print them out and cut them in half. Give them out to your employees to hand out after a successful job and have them advocate for how important these reviews are.

Get Google Reviews With NFC Cards
A new way I am exploring for gaining reviews in Google is using NFC Cards. These are programmable cards that can be scanned from a mobile phone which will open up a link directly to the review platform of your choice.
- I purchased 20 NFC cards from Amazon for $10.
- You then use the NFC Tools App to program the card to open any link you decide (its very easy, do not be intimidated by this).
- You can then bring these cards out on the job, or if you have a desk at your office where you interact with customers you can copy the template below, update to your styles, mount the card on it and frame it.
- You can then direct people to open their phone, tap the card behind the frame and they have the review platform open and ready!

Some Final Google Review Generation Tips
From my experience, some people dont think its important to get reviews. Or they think they have enough.
You can never have too many people shouting your praises. User-generated content is the future!
These take time and effort so it is best to get started now and it will become part of your normal processes. One of the best ways to encourage your employees is to make a competition of it.
Challenge them to have their name included in reviews, buy coffee or lunch for the one who gets the most. Or set a target number of reviews. When we get to 100 total reviews on Google, buy breakfast for the team or some other fun incentive.
I promise if you consistently get more quality reviews on Google and other platforms, you will notice the uptick in leads!
